A small square building is visible as a structure on aerial photographs between 1946 and 1958, on Barracane Beach. The later oblique photograph seems to show a slightly sloping roof, suggesting that it is not a pillbox, although it may be associated with a similarly sized structure to the south on the higher ground. It is possible that this was also a military building created during the Second World War to monitor and defend against military activity along the coast. It is not visible on aerial photographs taken in 1989 and may have been demolished or allowed to collapse.
