At least three rows of pale features are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946. Their structure is not clear but they resemble a grid of posts interpreted as Second World War military training features on Woolacombe Warren (MDV103309). Up to 10 posts, less than a metre in diameter, are visible in each row, spaced at approximately 5 to 6 metres apart and covering up to 55 metres in length, aligned parallel to the trackway on the south. Their exact function and current survival is not clear; they are not visible on later available aerial photographs.
