An irregularly shaped pit is visible on aerial photographs between 1946 and 2010 as an earthwork and a cropmark. Its maximum dimensions are 27 by 32 metres and it is likely to be twentieth century in origin, as no quarry or earthwork is depicted in this location on the 1904-1906 Ordnance Survey mapping. It has clear edges in 1946 and may have been one of many small pits in the vicinity that were used during the Second World War. Earthworks may survive as well as below-ground remains.
