An irregularly shaped pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs between 1946 and 2010. Its maximum dimensions are 36 by 21 metres and it is likely to be twentieth century in origin, as no quarry or earthwork is depicted in this location on the 1904-1906 Ordnance Survey mapping. It is very clearly visible on aerial photographs taken in 1964 and may have been one of many small quarry pits in the vicinity, some of which were probably used during the Second World War. Earthworks are likely to survive.
