Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

An irregularly shaped pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and as a dark cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 2010. Its maximum dimensions are 22 by 10 metres and it is likely to have gone out of use by the late nineteenth century, as a pit is depicted but not marked in this location on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey maps. It is likely to have been one of many small quarry pits in the vicinity. Slight earthworks may survive.
