Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

A sub-square platform, terraced into the slope and roughly 50 metres across, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs between 1947 and 2010. Although not clearly visible on 1946 aerial photographs, a dark indistinct mark in this location could indicate the site of the earthwork, which could therefore be of Second World War date. Bass records military storage facilities around Mortehoe Station in this vicinity during the war and this platform may be associated with military redistribution. It is still visible as a substantial earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 2010.
