Summary
A possible Medieval or Post Medieval field boundary is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of the 1970s to the north east of Stoneditch Hill, Combe Martin. The boundary is not marked on the 1st or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map, indicating it predates these publications. Alternatively it is possible that it is associated with the nearby ROC post.

A possible Medieval or Post Medieval field boundary is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of the 1970s to the north west of Stoneditch Hill, Combe Martin. The visible cropmark, centred at SS 5840 4530 measures 148 metres in length, and runs in a straight line in a north-south direction. The cropmark is likely to indicate the remains of a grubbed up boundary hedge, rather than a deliberately cut ditch.
The boundary is not marked on the 1st or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map, indicating it predates these publications.
Knight, S., 2012, Backlog Input Element of the North Devon Coast AONB National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV350734.
The cropmark is due north of the Royal Observer Corps post for Combe Martin (MDV72231), and it is possible that the two could be functionally connected.
