A catch-meadow of probable 19th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as a series of earthwork ditches to the north and west of Rickham. The ditches are generally located along the hill slopes and tap a spring-fed stream that flows down towards the west from its source at Rickman. The earthworks remain partly visible on lidar images dating to between 1998-2008, although have largely been infilled.
