A probable bomb crater is visible as a circular earthwork pit.

A bomb crater of Second World War date is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s and 1950s as a circular earthwork depression or pit, approximately 20 metres in diameter, to the west of Pondfield Plantation. Aalthough blast ejecta material is visible radiating from the pit on aerial photographs of 1946, the centre of the crater is partly obscured by possible scrub vegetation growth, which might support the interpretation that the crater was created several years earlier. It is not visible on more recent images and has probably been infilled.
