Summary

A rectangular structure visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s might be of Second World War date and military function. A rectangular structure measuring approximately 11 by 5 metres in size is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s. It might be a Nissen hut structure of Second World War date and military function, potentially associated with Down Thomas Battery to the north-east or HMS Cambridge to the south-west. The structure is not visible on later aerial photographs and the field in which it was located has been heavily cultivated. It is therefore unlikely significant remains survive in situ.
