The posts form roughly parallel rows positioned either side of the Mean Low Water level along Kingsbridge Estuary and stretch out to an approximate length of 2.5km. The remains of the posts are not clearly visible on later aerial photographs owing to their exposure at Mean Low Water level, although several posts may be visible on digital derived aerial photographs of 2002.
