The 1930s map shows the quarry much extended to the north.

The quarry is visible as an expanded earthwork pit on aerial photographs of the 1940s and 1950s, the original quarry earthwork destroyed by accelerated expansion in the post-war years. From the later 20th century the extensive pit of the later 20th century quarry contains permanent structures and is in use as a depot. The earthwork is clearly visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The modern quarry features were not transcribed by the survey.
