Two possible quarry pits are visible as earthworks on images derived from Lidar data flown between 2001 and 2010. They are not visible on any of the other available aerial photographs as this area had been wooded since at least the nineteenth century, but a site visit would verify their form and function.

Full description

Two irregular pits are visible as earthworks.

Two irregular features are visible on images derived from Lidar data flown between 2001 and 2010. They appear to be earthwork pits, with maximum diameters of 15 and 20 metres. They could be an artefact of the data processing, but their size and location is consistent with an interpretation as extraction pits. They are not visible on any of the other available aerial photographs as this area had been wooded since at least the nineteenth century. A site visit would verify their form and function.
