No. 11 is a semi-detached double-gabled Duke of Bedford cottage dating to 1856-7. It is one of a group of four cottages designed by the Bedford Estates architect-surveyor, Theophilus Jones and referred to in 1856 as Vigo Bridge Cottages.
The cottages are built of rubble slate stone under a slate roof, with granite quoins and sills, a gabled front porch and brick chimneys. The original plans show a parlour, kitchen, scullery and pantry on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor.
The cottages have been subsequently altered. At No. 11 this has included the addition of a brick-built kitchen on the ground floor and more recently, a small timber-framed, tile hung shower room at first floor level. It is now proposed to demolish the latter, which is in poor condition and detracts from the character and appearance of the cottage.
