Three possible observation posts of Second World War date are visible as structures on aerial photographs between 1941 and 1945, to the north of Start Farm. The structures are located along the cliff edge, are equally spaced and abutt the eastern side of a now removed field boundary. The structures appear to be of temporary construction and are visible on aerial photographs up to 1944, although by 1945 the northern two structures have been removed. The southern-most structure remains visible until 1946, after which time it has been completely removed.
