Memorial window and tablet, and war dead folders, in St John the Baptist's church.

On the World War I memorial tablet inside the church, the men are strictly segregated according to rank.
To the original rectangular panel on which the First World War dead are remembered, a smaller, shaped panel was added below, after World War 2, to form a unified monument. The upper part is headed with the words:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN REMEMBRANCE OF OUR MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR ENGLAND AND FOR FREEDOM IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919.
The later, curved panel below contains an alphabetical listing and is headed by these words:
IN MEMORY OF THESE MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE CAUSE OF HUMAN FREEDOM 1939 - 1945.

Large marble panelling set at base of stained glass window, with additional memorial at base for Second World War names. Incised red lettering. Decorative niche at both ends with carved figure.
