The war memorial in the church is referred to by the church guide as a "gradine" (a raised shelf or ledge) carved by a local man, which originally was on the main altar. Both plaques are made of English oak.
The wording on the upper plaque reads
'LET US REMEMBER BEFORE GOD THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919.'
The names of 26 men follow this inscription and after this another inscription

'TANTA TESTIUM NUBES'
(A Greek inscription believed to be taken from the 1st Epistle of St Paul to the Corinthians)

'SONS OF THIS PLACE, LET OF YOU BE SAID
THAT YOU WHO LIVE WERE WORTHY OF YOUR DEAD
THESE GAVE THEIR LIVES THAT YOU WHO LIVE MAY REAP
A RICHER HARVEST 'ERE YOU FALL ASLEEP'

Imperial War Museum, 2014, War Memorials Archive, 55309 (Website). SDV356253.

First World War part is a wooden board on wood. Base figure of crucifixion above the inscription. Beneath is the Second World War part.
