A breach in the reclamation bank at South Efford Marsh is visible.

The breach was reportedly caused by a German bomb in 1943.

A breach in the sea wall at South Efford Marsh caused by a Second World War bomb in 1943 is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as a large water filled earthwork pit. The crater is not visible and has not been transcribed. The reclamation bank was rebuilt in 1956 but has recently been intentionally breached to revert the marshland to wetland conditions.
