Former field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 and images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, north of Lower Widdicombe Farm. The banks are northnortheast to southsouthwest and westnorthwest to eastsoutheast aligned and may form part of a medieval strip field system or form small land parcels associated with the former estate of Widdicombe House. The former field boundaries passed out of use by the time of the parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48 and are not visible on aerial photographs after 1946.
