The site of a temporary Second World War military transport depot, with possible associated structures is visible on aerial photographs of 1944 at Torcross. The transport depot covers an area of approximately 1.2 hectares of agricultural land to the west of Torcross and likely forms part of a vehicle storage and maintenance depot used by American troops as part of the preparations for the Normandy landings. The depot is not visible on aerial photographs before April 1944 and has been cleared by 1945.
