A linear bank, approximately 2 metres wide and 18 metres long, is visible on aerial photographs from 1941, parallel to the coastline. It is 70 metres north-west of a probable defensive military structure (MDV104424), and may be associated with it. The most likely interpretation is as a defensive earthwork of Second World War date, protecting the potential landing place of Broad Sand. It is possible that this earthwork survives.
