Full description
Devon and Somerset County Councils, 2000-2002, Historic Farmsteads Database, BH047.5 (Machine readable data file). SDV349681.
Open -fronted cattleshed. Later cattle shed; dairy. Originally open-fronted, gable-ended cattlesheds forming the south, west and part of the north side of the yard. Now only the rear wall remains to the south and west sides. The front was extended in the 1950’s and infilled with concrete block. The south range is built on a massive plinth, revetted into hillslope. Probably a rebuild of an earlier building. Chert; Limestone; Rubble stone, brick / concrete block repairs to walls. Plinth is limestone, often blocks, with limestone ashlar quoins. Asbestos sheet roof. 20th century metal frame. 7 bays. Circa 1950 roof of single metal angle bars. Door/s; Open front. Doorway in rear wall to west side. 3 top tilting metal windows to rear south wall, all brick dressed insertions under concrete lintels. Currently disused.
