An observation post, or possible pillbox, of Second World War date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs from 1941 onwards at Slapton Bridge. The single rectangular structure measures approximately 6.5m long by 4.5m wide and is located approximately 220m south of Slapton Bridge. The observation post is first visible on aerial photographs of 1941 and remains visible as a structure until January 1944, after which it is visible as a partly demolished structure, the likely result of the military training exercises carried out in preparation for the Normandy landings. The demolished structure is visible on aerial photographs of 1951 and has been completely levelled by 1976.
