The farmstead is shown on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch map of the 1880s-1890s. Dendrochronological analysis on roof timbers from the house suggest that the house at least has been here since the 14th-15th century.

The results of a dendrochronological analysis undertaken on timbers from the roof of northern part of the farmhouse provided an estimated felling date of 1396-1421, suggesting that this end of the building was built in the late 14th or early 15th century. The southern end was rebuilt and extended in the 19th century.
