Pool Farm is located on a west-facing slope in the Blackdown Hills on a west-facing slope. The farmhouse faces west across the lane to the former farmyard which still contains the remains of a medieval cob barn. Projecting from the uphill (north) end of the farmhouse is a much repaired cider house.
The results of a dendrochronological analysis undertaken on timbers in the house suggest a construction date for the south-western half of the building shortly after the proposed felling dated of the winter 1366/7-summer 1367 and the mid to late 17th century for the north-eastern part of the house. Analysis of timbers in the cider house provided a felling date of 1563-88.

Ordnance Survey, 2013, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV350786.
