Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Rectory marked comprising a house, outbuildings and formal gardens.


Swete, J. (ed. Gray T. + Rowe, M.), 2000, Travels in Georgian Devon. The Illustrated Journals of the Reverend John Swete. Vol. 4, 30 (Monograph). SDV339713.

Swete, visiting Moretonhampstead in 1797, describes the recotry as a 'large and rather handsome Pile' but 'subject to damps'. 'The Living however', he says, 'is rich enough to compensate this inconvenience'.
