Earthwork features of possible post-medieval to modern date are visible as earthwork pits and banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the north of Cornworthy. The earthworks are located either side of the site of a former lime kiln and quarry and, as such, likely represent associated industrial features. They comprise a possible oval shaped earthwork pit and outer bank of a possible prospection pit to the west and two large earthwork banks of largely indistinct form to the east, perhaps representing ‘dumps’ from quarry upcast material. The features remain visible as earthwork pits and banks on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012.
