A possible quarry of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit and bank on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the south of Great Wood. The earthwork pit, which is elongated in shape, is northeast to southwest aligned, measures approximately 61m in length and is flanked either side by two earthwork banks. The earthworks are likely associated with the quarry workings which are located to the immediate north and remain visible as an earthwork pit and bank on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012.
