A probable observation building of Second World War date and military function is visible on military oblique aerial photographs of 1958, as a structure situated on the cliff top overlooking the coast at Ness Cove, Shaldon. Tree cover obscures this site on all vertical images available to the survey. It might have been an observation post or fire command station for the emergency coastal battery at Shaldon, or related to other coastal defence, such as mine command. The current condition of the building is unknown. Field investigation is recommended. The position of the map object is approximate.
