Summary
A wreck of probable mid-twentieth century date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1950s and 1960s in the intertidal zone on the north bank of the Teign, adjacent to the site of the former gas works. The wreck is not visible on later images available to the survey. It is unlikely that the structure survive in-situ.

A wreck of probable mid-twentieth century date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of the 1950s and 1960s, in the intertidal zone on the north bank of the Teign, adjacent to the site of the former gas works. The outline of the vessel, which appears to be submerged in estuarine silt, measures circa fifteen metres long and five metres wide. The reclaimed area of the former gas works site has now been extended eastwards over the location of the wreck, and has probably affected the survival of the intertidal deposits.
