A nissen hut of Second World War date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 onwards, to the north of Britannia Crossing. The nissen hut, which measures approximately 9m long by 5.5m wide, appears to be associated with a possible water or sewage tank to the immediate north and which are both first visible on aerial photographs of 1945. The nissen hut remains visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1960, although has been removed by 1984.
