Lynchets of possible post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1950 as low earthwork banks following the contours along the north facing slopes on the western half of a field on East Down, Dawlish. At this time the eastern half of the field is covered with scrub vegetation obscuring any earthworks present, but it is probable the banks continued towards the coastal cliffs. The earthwork banks are not identifiable on later aerial photographs and have probably been levelled.
