19th century stone-walled cider house and loft with a hipped corrugated iron roof. In poor condition (B.A.R. 2.2.4).

Cider house. Apple loft; cider house. A lofted cider house with a half-hipped roof, built across the hillslope and terraced into at its rear. It has an apple loft above, which is reached from external stone stairs at the rear of the building. Chert; rubble stone walls. Corrugated iron roof. A-frame. 3-bays. A-frames which sit on lateral pads on the wall tops. The apex is mortice and tenoned and held with a peg. The southern principal oversails the northern and the ridge is supported on the back of the southern principal. The collars are lap-jointed and nailed. There are two sets of back purlins. Door/s; external stairs; timber window/s. The door to the cider house faces south. It has a solid, pegged frame and a nailed, ledged door on strap hinges with teardrop finials. To the right of the door is a timber framed window with a central mullion and vertical iron bars dividing each side. It has a timber shutter on strap hinges with teardrop finials. The apple loft has a nailed, ledged door on strap hinges with teardrop finials, in a solid, pegged frame. It is reached by stone external steps. To the east of the loft door there is a timber window with a central mullion and a timber shutter, hung on strap hinges. Apple loft; cobble floor. The loft floor is supported on cross joists on timber laces in the end walls. The floor is cobbled. There is a chute (a hessian sack) for dropping apples through from the loft to the apple crusher below. Apple crusher; cider press. A timber apple crusher. Single screw cider press with timber tray. Cider barrels. Currently disused.
