A probable anti-invasion obstacle circa 20 metres from and parallel to the shore is visible on a single oblique aerial photograph taken in 1941. The curvilinear structure is more than 360 metres in length and at least 3 metres in width; it appears grid-like, indicating that it was anti-tank scaffolding. It is not visible on any other available aerial photographs, and was probably removed after the threat of invasion had passed or soon after the war ended. The quality of the laser scan is poor and rectification errors were high so the location is accurate to only approximately 10 metres. Although only the central part of the beach is visible on this photograph, and it was possible to transcribe only this section, beach defences would have extended across the whole potential landing zone.
