A small, possibly octagonal building of probable post-medieval or modern date is visible on aerial photographs of 1941 onwards as a structure overlooking the coast at Hole Head, east of Holcombe. It is not depicted on any maps available to the survey. The structure appears to be approximately three metres in diameter, flat roofed with a possible covered entrance from the inland, western face. The roof appears to be topped with, presumably decorative crenelation. The function of the structure is unknown but it has been suggested it was constructed as a customs lookout and later used as a summerhouse.
