A possible former quarry is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards and images derived from Lidar data as an oval earthwork pit up to approximately 40 metres in diameter, adjacent to a trackway in the north-west corner of a field on the High Land of Orcombe. The earthwork is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map or the tithe map for Littleham and could therefore date from the post-medieval to early nineteenth century.
