[Upper plaque] 'In proud and loving memory of [name] Lieut-Colonel Royal Artillery of Grange Died 7th Sept. 1916. Quo fas et Gloria ducunt'.
[Lower Plaque] 'In grateful memory of the following men of Broadhembury who fell in the Great War 1914-1919. [names] Their name liveth for evermore'.
