Full description
Devon and Somerset County Councils, 2000-2002, Historic Farmsteads Database, BH226.2 (Machine readable data file). SDV349681.
Linhay. 6-bay, tall, open-fronted linhay with tallet and date plaque (1889). Brick; rubble stone walls. English bond brick at south end, with datestone (N N 1889) and rear wall. North wall is stone rubble. Slate roof. A-frame. 6-bays. A-frames and scissor braces, both with bolted joints. Notched, mortise and tenoned X-apexes. Ridgeboard. Single set of back purlins. Chiselled assembly marks. Door/s; loading hatch; open front; timber window/s. Full -height front posts. Rear wall has original window. Loading hatches in both end walls. Doorway in northwest corner. Feeding passage; hayloft. Hayloft has gone but evidence that large crossbeams were mortised into front posts. Sockets in rear wall. Doorway in northwest corner suggests a feeding passage. Currently a Workshop-non-agricultural.
