A possible clay extraction pit of probable modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1969 onwards and on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2007, to the southeast of Exton Farm. The largely infilled earthwork pit is sub-circular in shape, measures approximately 20m in diameter and is located in close proximity to a clay pit recorded on the 1880’s-90’s Ordnance Survey 25-inch First Edition map. The former clay pit remains visible as a shallow earthwork on LiDAR images captured between 1998-2007.
