The former groyne is visible as a flattened linear structure.

The former groyne remains partly visible as a flattened linear structure.

A groyne of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as a flattened linear structure on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2012, to the west of Nutwell Park. The former groyne is northeast to southwest aligned, is broadly perpendicular to the shoreline and is visible to a length of approximately 32m. Additional elements of the former structure may, however, be preserved within the estuarine muds.
