The possible gun pit is visible as an earthwork pit and bank.

The gun pit is visible as an earthwork pit and bank.

The former gun pit has been completely levelled.

A possible gun pit of Second World War date is visible as an earthwork pit and bank on aerial photographs of 1943 onwards, to the southwest of Strete. The gun pit is semi-circular in shape and comprises an earthwork pit measuring approximately 7.5m in length and flanked on its northern side by an earthwork bank. The earthworks remain visible on aerial photographs up until 1946, although have been completely levelled by 1951.
