An inter-tidal feature of potential medieval to post-medieval date is visible as a possible flattened linear structure on aerial photographs of 1999 and on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2012, within the Exe Estuary. The broadly V-shaped, northeast to southwest aligned linear structure measures approximately 147m in length and is visible at Mean Low Water along the western bank of the Exe Estuary. A series of linear arranged mussel beds of modern date are also visible to the immediate north, south and west of the feature and clearly represent separate inter- tidal features. The possible former structure may represent the remains of a fish trap, little of which now survives.
