Inter-tidal features representing probable mussel beds of modern date are visible as a series of linear structures on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2012, within the Exe Estaury. The linear structures are broadly north to south and east to west aligned, measure up to 50m in length and appear visible as a series of individual posts. The linear structures most likely represent mussel beds of modern date, although given the broad V-Shaped form of the southernmost structure, may also represent part of a series of fish traps of potential medieval to post-medieval date.
