A small circular pit approximately 10 metres in diameter is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Crowden plantation, Exmouth. It is probably a bomb crater of early Second World War date. It is visible as a largely infilled earthwork on aerial photographs of 1950 and has since been completely levelled. Further earthwork remains of bomb craters, probably from the same raid, have been recorded to the south and east.
