Name:Two Rectangular Structures at Seaton Holiday Village

Summary

Two rectangular structures are visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1963, located either side of the core of the Holiday Camp. They are not depicted on 1930s mapping and could be additional infrastructure associated with use of the site as an internment camp in the Second World War, perhaps water or waste management. Neither appears to survive.

Two rectangular structures are visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1963, circa 10 by 50 metres and 10 by 40 metres in size, located either side of the core of the Holiday Camp. They are not depicted on 1930s mapping and could be additional infrastructure associated with use of the site as an internment camp in the Second World War, perhaps water or waste management. One at SY2491590095 is not visible on later aerial photographs and appears to have been replaced by additional accommodation by 1947, although the other at circa SY2505990092 survived until at least 1963. The latter area has also now been developed.
