Ruined remains of original parish church.15th century in date, deliberately ruined in 1850 and the e end rebuilt as mausoleum (see doe list for full details).

Vis=30/8/1989 (?rchme) ruins of the medieval church consist of a tower and n wall of the nave which joins onto the mausoleum), all apparently 15c (nmr, citing ?pattison).

Vis=estimated -/-/1951(pevsner) the remains of the old church consist of a small west tower and one wall of the nave with windows in the perpendicular style. The old east end was converted into a mausoleum by pugin and contains the rolle monument and a fine 17th century tomb to denys rolle (1638) and his wife and child (pevsner).

Vis=19/7/1953(os) only the southern wall of the nave remains with the central doorway flanked by windows. It is plastered and roofed with tiles. The floor of the nave is incorporated into the church- yard, grassed and filled with graves.

Vis=estimated -/-/1953(hoskins) it is suggested that this tomb may be the work of nicholas stone. If this is so, it is the only known work of his in devon (hoskins).
