A linear ditch, circa 3 metres wide, flanked by banks of up to 2 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in low light conditions under snow cover in 1963. It is partly visible on images derived from Lidar data captured in 2006 and aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards. Its visible length is 90 metres but it may have extended further to the south. Its function is difficult to determine; it may be a water channel or possibly a hollow way. It appears to be crossed by a field boundary depicted on the late nineteenth century Ordnance Survey mapping, and could therefore be an earlier feature, associated with drainage of the marsh, or perhaps even with post-medieval saltworking. Earthworks are likely to survive.
