The area is depicted as an orchard on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map of approximately the 1880’s-90’s.

Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010, on land adjacent to Exe View House. The site is symbolised as an orchard on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of the 1880’s-90’s and occupies an area of approximately 0.72 hectares of land on the eastern side of Exe View House. The earthworks comprise a series of northeast to southwest aligned banks located within a single rectangular shaped plot and remain visible on recent digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
