Summary

Cropmark ditches of a sub-circular shaped enclosure of possible prehistoric date are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1959 onwards, at Nichols Nymet Cross.

Simpson, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV18634.

Vis=21/4/1991 (simpson) the site lies on a gentle se facing slope, the area of the enclosure is almost flat. No earthworks were visible.

An almost circular enclosure consisting of a single ditch is visible on aerial photos (p1). It has a diameter of roughly 27m. The faint remains of a possible inner enclosure are also visible on some aerial photos. This feature has a diameter of roughly 7m, and has a break along its SW edge. Both have been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
