A dark circular cropmark is visible on aerial photographs taken in June 1956. It may have formed over a buried ditch, circa 1 metre in width, and is 11 metres in diameter. It is sited just above 30 metres above sea level, of the west-facing slopes overlooking the River Coly and Axe Estuary. This feature is tentatively interpreted as the remains of a buried ditch around a prehistoric barrow, although other explanations are possible. Further archaeological work is recommended to determine the character and date of this feature.
